I served as Conference Director of Social Media Week Milan for the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 editions, leading a team from digital agencies Hagakure and later Doing.

Social Media Week (now part of Adage) was a prominent media platform and worldwide event with local presence across five continents: Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Asia.

My responsibilities included building the local team and overseeing curation, strategy, programming, marketing, press relations, sponsorships, partnerships and operations. During the event, I hosted selected keynotes and panels as master of ceremony.

Recap of Social Media Week Milan 2016

Each edition featured more than 150 local and international speakers and attracted over 6,000 participants. The event received official support from the City of Milan and Expo 2015, with opening ceremonies held at the Mayor's office, Palazzo Marino.

We organised talks, workshops, masterclasses, demonstrations and outdoor activities in Milan's city centre, with the Duomo cathedral as the epicentre. Venues included Palazzo Reale, the Urban Center in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the Mondadori events space in Piazza del Duomo and Base Milano (in 2016).

Key sponsors and partners included Coca-Cola, Europ Assistance, Fiat, Lavazza, Microsoft, Nescafé, Nokia, Philips, Rock Communications, TIM (Telecom Italia), Widiba, Yahoo. Media partners included Corriere della Sera, Mondadori, Radio Deejay, Wired.

Together with Philips we created a bespoke light interaction for the launch of the Hue bulbs

We launched the FIAT 500L by creating a 'Mobile Media Room' with live-streamed conversations with speakers

The event wouldn't be complete without an official party
